POSTDOC POSITION IN THE FIELD OF STEM CELL BIOLOGY, GENOME EDITING, AND REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
Research in our group attempts to understand the molecular basis of the regenerative mechanisms that maintain the proper form and function of the human body. Our research programs build on a multidisciplinary platform that integrates stem cell models with genome engineering, functional genomics, single cell analysis, and third-gen sequencing to gain a holistic understanding of regeneration in its broadest sense, while keeping a commitment to fulfilling the translational promise of stem cell research. Our lab is equipped with cutting-edge technologies, including BD FACSAria Fusion cytometer, QX200 Digital Droplet PCR, DASBox bioreactors, InVivo2 hypoxia workstation, Oxford Nanopore sequencers, Leica TIRF and Stereo microscopes with micro-precision micromanipulators, and dedicated bioinformatics workstations. Successful candidates will have opportunities to work in collaborations with Prof. Juan Carlos Izpisua Belmonte (Salk Institute) and Prof. Yanyi Huang (Peking University).
Applicants must be graduates of molecular biology, cellular or developmental biology, biochemistry, or similar disciplines. The positions require the knowledge and will to further acquire and develop the expertise in cutting-edge technologies in cell fate reprogramming, genome editing, and genomics data analysis. The candidates should be familiar with molecular cloning and cell culture techniques. Additional knowledge in pluripotent or adult stem cell biology would be a plus. Furthermore, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, independent critical thinking and problem solving, and a high level of motivation and commitment to excellence in academic research are necessary for the candidate to succeed in the position.
